How it works
1. Choose
Choose your ecard from our three Christmas ranges or our Occasions range. You can navigate to each full range from our homepage, and view each ecard by clicking on the Preview button.
You can view the ecards without having to register, but must register to preview with your own details.
2. Personalise
To register
enter a username, e.g. johnsmith
enter your email address
enter a password
click Register
You will receive a confirmation email. Click on the Link which validates you identity and automatically logs you in.
You can then personalise your chosen ecard with your company details, upload your logo and select the charity you wish to support. You can also choose from various soundtracks for your ecard.
On all ecards, your greeting is shown above the animation and your details below.
Silver range ecards open on screen with your greeting and logo also shown inside (NB: space for your greeting is limited within the card)
Logos should be saved in JPEG format for uploading to your ecard.
3. Preview
You can preview your ecard and make any amendments before sending your order.
You can also send a test e-mail to an address of your choice, to ensure that the email displays your information correctly.
If everything looks okay, click 'Order'.
4. Order details
Your order is now placed.
Next you will need to:
confirm your billing address
select the quantity of cards that you wish to send
select a date and time to send your ecards
elect to Pay by Invoice or pay using PayPal ( including debit and credit card payments )
You will then have the option to add your contacts.
5. Upload contacts
To send your ecard, either add each email address one at a time, or upload in bulk. Contacts can be added after placing your order.
To add your contacts in bulk, create a three-column spreadsheet in the format Firstname, Surname, Email (NB. the email address must be saved in the third column of your spreadsheet. If Firstname / Surname are not required, leave the first two columns blank).
Save your spreadsheet as a CSV file, available from Excel.
To upload your file:
1. Click 'Upload' and select your CSV file.
2. Make sure the addresses display under the correct heading, and click the 'Confirm' button.
The contacts will then be moved to your send list at the bottom of the page (if any are incorrect, you can edit or delete them individually).
NB. if an email address does not appear or displays incorrectly, you will need to edit this contact.
The ecard will be sent only to complete and correct addresses. If errors in an address are found after the card is first sent, any incorrect contacts can be edited and the ecard sent again to these contacts - the card will be sent to any address just once.
6. Send
When you have uploaded your addresses, click 'Send card' at the bottom of the contacts manager. Your ecards will be queued to send at the requested date and time.
Your contacts will receive an email, sent from cards@charityecards.co.uk with a reply-to address of your choice, with a preview image and a link to view your ecard online.
If you include the recipient's name in your contact list, this will feature in the email: 'Dear (Firstname)' as in the example shown below:
7. My Homepage
You can stop at any point in your order and come back later.
To resume an order, log in and click 'My Homepage'
Here you will see your details and a list of your orders.
Click 'Details' against a listed order to manage that order.
Click 'Results' against a listed order to see the results from your ecards. You can download a CSV of results.
You can change your ecard, quantity of cards or card send date until you have made a payment selection.
You can preview or re-customise your ecards until you have queued your card to be sent.
